Indian cinema
India - a mysterious country, whose culture for centuries attracted the greatest minds of humanity. East has long captured the West. India is one of those countries, the contemporary art that is rooted in the deep past. Movies in this country has absorbed the traditions of the national theater, which has strict canons. In the story line must be present a positive hero, heroine and character personifying evil. An integral part is also the music, songs and dances. Specificity of Indian cinema is also due to the need for certain symbolism, because the plot has to be understandable to all segments of viewers from the banker to the last beggar. Perhaps that is why the viewer has the feeling of belonging to what is happening on the screen, in spite of the national identity.

Who of us in childhood do not read books Rudyard Kipling "Riki Tiki Tavi", "Mowgli", whose imagination was struck Captain Nemo and his submarine Nautilus? But all these characters have one homeland - India. It is not surprising that when the cinemas were Indian films, they were immediately taken spectator.

Against the background of the national cinema of the great achievements of the Soviet people their subjects allocated their humanity and romanticism. One after another, the film's release in theaters, "The Tramp", "Shree 420" - touching stories about love and the fight against evil. The magical world of music, dance, bright colors, the world of tears and laughter, sorrow and joy, defeats and victories conquered by thousands of people. Huge queues for tickets, the full cinema halls confirms the success of Indian cinema of the Soviet viewer.

Cinema - a constantly evolving art. And in the 70 years to replace the touching melodrama come westerns and action films where the hero is fighting alone with gangsters, denounces corrupt politicians and fights with the mafia.

On the screens out of the country the movie "Sholay" (original title "Flame"), a dynamic story which tells of the adventures of two friends of thieves. They hired a former police officer to help him catch the ringleader of the gang was operating in the vicinity of a small village. Not too difficult task for friends gets an unexpected turn. As a result, Jai and Viru, which brilliantly played Amitabh Bachchan Amitabh Bachchan - the unfading light Amitabh Bachchan - the unfading light
and Dharmendra, are drawn into a real war with a gang of terrorizing the population. Of course, not without love stories: the hero falls in love with Dharmendra rustic beauty, whose role was played by Hema Malini. Their relationship was not easy. But young people will eventually find a common language. Curiosities and incendiary jokes surround the couple throughout the film.

Yet the more I was struck by the fate of the other pair .  Jai falls in love with a widow, living in a home inspector Kumar .  Later it is revealed that she is the only member of his family who survived the bloody massacre gang leader Gabbar Singh .  Inspector he decided to take revenge on the murderer of their relatives .  Throughout the film Jai and Jai (actress Jaya Bhaduri) hardly exchanged a few words about the feelings that bind them can be understood only in a fleeting look that young people exchanged during casual encounters .  Interestingly, contrary to custom, by which Indian woman, a widow is not entitled to a second marriage, in-law with an understanding attitude to this situation and when he asked Jai Jai hand, he agrees to the marriage .  But fate decreed otherwise .  Jai dies .  The woman has not had time to remove the mourning remains to be seen as on the funeral pyre burns her hope for a better future .  Although good triumphs over evil, against the background of personal tragedy of this woman that justice takes on a bitter aftertaste of sorrow .  Much later, I learned that a happy ending in this situation was impossible .  Death of a hero was to emphasize the place, which is given to women in Indian society .

There was not a Moscow theater in which I have not visited, roaming for rolling movies. But the film, though a major, but not my only passion. I avidly read everything that had any relation to India, starting with the notes in newspapers and magazines, ending the academic publication "Bhagavad-gita." The lack of information about the movie made me go to the Library of Foreign Literature and there to look for answers to many questions. But beyond that, there was a problem of communication is particularly acute she stood in front of those who were not sufficiently rare movies.

I think many readers will be surprised to learn that in the territory of the former Soviet Union is now home to many fans of Indian cinema. I even find it difficult to say how many of these people may be, to send each other pictures of their idols, magazine articles, and other things that may interest a collector, collecting materials about Indian cinema. In many cities set up clubs, where intensive work was carried out to promote the culture of India. In Moscow, at the Palace of Culture AZLK it was also opened a club, which unfortunately is now ceased to exist.

Strictly speaking, not every viewer, happy looking Indian cinema can be called his lovers. The definition of "amateur" for those whose hobby is Indian cinema is not entirely accurate. This is also what makes amateur philatelist call. The true professionals in their field, they have an encyclopedic knowledge, which would be the envy even of professional experts on the cinema of the East. As a general rule, it collects not only Indian films, which plays favorite actor or actress who prefers to collect a good movie. Tape drives and is also included in most collections, as well as movie magazines and postcards with the image of Indian actors.

India is a country of contrasts, where coexist modern technology and manual labor. Churches and airports, large highway and winding mountain roads, past and present come together to create the color, which at first glance may seem fanciful. And yet, all this is India. Perhaps that is why many people think Indian cinema tale, but art must not only reflect reality but to give one's fancy.

Few people, reading books, which in his youth delights, experience the same feelings. I, too, watching old Indian movies, I think about what I like about them. Probably only really talented films make us reviewing them to see something new in the story.
Recently, the Indian television held a retrospective of films of Raj Kapoor. This man was not only a wonderful actor, but also a talented filmmaker whose films have not lost relevance today. Many actors have become stars of Indian cinema, we owe him their ascent to stardom. The film "The truth, holiness and beauty", where starring Shashi Kapoor and Zeenat Aman, in my opinion, this is a masterpiece.

What is important in the relations between people and what we love? These questions are the leitmotif of the story that develops against the backdrop of a small Indian village .  The young engineer, who came to the construction of the dam, falls in love with a local girl .  Seeing her only briefly, he is captivated by her incomparable beauty of the voice .  He did not know that she has a physical defect, a child half his face, she burned with boiling oil .  Unloved even his father, considers it the culprit in the death of his mother, who died at her birth, Rupa tries to hide his lack of .  Gossip about her neighbors, because in the Indian village are not released until a certain age married woman is considered to be dishonored .  Arranging a wedding with the father of the heroine, a young man, and from him learns about the true state of affairs .  On the wedding night he lifts the veil from the face of his young wife and terrified, recoiled, runs away .  Shashi Kapoor played a great image of rushing about the person to whom it seems that his dream was stolen .  He convinces himself that he had been deceived, replacing bride .  Abandoned by his wife takes off her expensive jewelry and clothing and again turns into a village simpleton .  Under cover of night, hiding her face, she meets up with her husband, becoming a fervent lover .  During the day, she suffers from his contempt and hostility .  But forever is impossible to lead a double life: Rupa is expecting a child, but her husband says that is not his father .  Despite the pleas of the woman and attempts to explain, he throws her out of the house .  Her old father dies, unable to bear the shame .  The engineer did not find his beloved night at the usual place of their meetings .  He is only the memory of their love .  Everyone in the village indicate his Rupa, as the girl whose voice he hears in his dreams, but he did not believe them .  But the rains and elements threatens to destroy the dam and flood the village .  Residents leave their homes, in one of the carts drawn by oxen rides and Rupa .  The sad melody flies over a dam on which the stream of people moving .  Song makes the hero of the film, to move from the cart to a cart in search of a singer .  A powerful stream of water breaks the dam, panic covers people and they flee in terror from death .  The carts move the fallen men, screaming sounds of pain over the banks of the river .  The hero is a heroine and two images: an ardent lover and wife come together .  Yes, it is not a perfect beauty, but her soul, passing through many trials and grief, do not harden .  In spite of everything, she forgot how to love and forgive .  Is not this the finest quality, which is in a man? Two lovers who have found each other, saved from the floods in one of undrowned roofs, and when the water falls it turns out that the dome of the temple, which has repeatedly prayed Rupa .  The plot of the film resembles a parable, but time has no power over the enduring truths .

Indian cinema has been criticized for not template and realism, for artificiality and irrelevance of subjects. From how many people I have heard that they do not like Indian music, but here's the paradox: it is the song of the Indian films have become popular in our country in 80 years. Fashion on the disc made on other young people look at Indian cinema after the release of "Disco Dancer". A touching story of a young man, thanks to his talent who was able to become a famous singer captured the imagination of many viewers. We can assume that it was the second wave of nationwide popularity of Indian cinema. Mithun Chakraborty, who played in the film a major role for a long time became an idol in every sense of the word. His good looks, excellent plastic and glamor of the hero's single made Jimmy popular favorite.

In India, go to the movies with their entire families. The nicest places in the hall are those that are located on the balcony. Modern equipment ensures excellent image and sound quality, making the viewing of the film memorable and enjoyable event. In TV advertising campaign conducted for new films, videos constantly coming on the screens, give some idea of the film's plot, just enough to intrigue the audience. Music is also an integral part of the advertising campaign. By the time when the movie appears on the cinema screens, the audience already burning with desire to see the new movie a masterpiece.

The music of Indian cinema can be considered as an independent art form. Even before it appears on cinema screens film, songs from a sound from the speakers tape. Hits songs every week on television and on the viewer like a song or not, it depends on further admissions, when the film will be released. But it also happens that the film passes unnoticed, and the songs from it for a long time become hits.

As well as around the world, the film industry in India is based on a system of stars. You bet on the popular actor, whose names can attract the viewer. Modern Indian cinema is not inferior to the level of Western films. It's safe to say that whether in Russia is developed film distribution, one would expect the third wave of popularity of Indian cinema.

The recent trends in Indian cinema have changed a lot: to replace the steep hero lone hero came, symbolizing the youth of today. Funny comedy, musical love story filled with Indian screens, but even the seemingly light scenes films continue to raise issues of Indian society, to talk about the true moral values.

Last year, India goes on the screens the film "Tell me you love" (the name of the license "does not renounce love"). The beautiful love story of the poor and the rich young man Rohit girl Sonia wins the hearts of Indians and immediately became a huge hit. Going on a sea cruise, the characters will appear in the case of the island, far from civilization and the bustling cities. Under the bright sun and the splash of waves arises their love, but return home destroys their plans for the future together. Rohit witnesses the murder of bandits Police Commissioner and thereby signed his own death warrant. Keeping a pain in the wounded heart, Sonia went to New Zealand, where fate brings her to Raj, as two drops of water similar to her dead lover. Her mind refused to believe what is happening, but
the soul to hope that a miracle happened.

Talking about Indian cinema, we can draw an analogy with soap operas, not so long ago appeared on our blue screens. It seems to me that it was the Indian cinema has prepared the ground for their successful shows. Soap operas are designed for tighter viewer category: those who are important emotional side of human relationships, developing an exotic, almost fairy-tale background. It was eaten that viewers watching "Wild Angel", "Wanderings of Hercules," "Cassandra" and "Babylon 5", no matter how different we may seem, these movies.

One can argue about the merits and demerits of the movies from different countries, on the national characteristics and their semantic content. But one thing is clear: there are good movies, and there are - poor, who have looked at a few times and have to be forgotten immediately as soon as the cassette is rewound to the beginning. And it does not depend on the country in which filmed.
