Piercing dramatic film "The Butterfly's Dream", exhibited at the "Oscar" of Turkey, dispels misconceptions that Turkish cinema today may be interested in the international film market only melodramatic soap operas.

Surviving in spite

The plot of "Butterfly Dream" is simple and complicated at the same time. In the yard in 1941, Europe in flames of World War II. Turkey is trying to avoid a confrontation with one of the parties, the country's population is suffering from poverty and hunger Psychology and physiology of hunger - the two sides of the same coin . The main characters in the performance Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ and Murtagh Firat outwardly resemble little resemblance to the rebels. Actors create different characters on the screen, but at the same time, their characters have a lot in common: detached lost look, angular shape, some tightness in his movements. "The Dream of a Butterfly" is a bit like "Pearl Harbor" and other similar films about war, love and confrontation against the backdrop of the tragic events. So, it is not an American drama in which the good must necessarily defeat the evil in the Turkish film greater truthfulness and bitter moments, causing tears in the audience sympathy. Yilmaz Erdogan creates a beautiful story, first building up the story in the script, and then - on the screen embodying the idea, infusing in her mood. Eternal themes of love, friendship, war and death find their place in the film and did not seem unnatural phony.

The name refers to the drama on the transience of life similar to the butterfly that dies with the onset of cold weather. Heroes "Butterfly Dream" bask on their feelings and hopes for the future, but there are only a cold and despair. They themselves are like butterflies who were born only to briefly bring to the world of beauty.

The film "The Butterfly's Dream" bought for display and distribution in more than fifty countries. For Russia, a feature-length drama was divided into four parts to make it a short series.
