How does an inguinal hernia
Hernia - a protrusion of an internal organ or a part thereof through the various holes under the skin, in the intermuscular space or any space. The most common hernias are abdominal hernia, when the abdominal organs out through different holes under the skin of the abdomen or elsewhere. At the same time distinguish hernia hernial (opening through which the internal organs are located), the hernial sac (formed shell, which contains all the abdominal organs - the peritoneum) and the contents, which can be any organ of the abdominal cavity.
Inguinal hernias are much more common than the other abdominal hernia. Congenital inguinal hernias formed in the omission of testicular (or ovarian girls) from the abdominal cavity in the pelvis and scrotum. Their peritoneum covers the hole which normally grows, and if not overgrown, then through the hole behind the testis (ovary) may extend the internal organs.
Types of inguinal hernias
Inguinal hernias are congenital or acquired, which arise from the weakness of the muscles and ligaments of the abdomen and heavy physical work.
Inguinal hernias can also be oblique, and combined straight. Most oblique inguinal hernia occurs when the internal organs out through the spermatic cord (vas deferens, blood and lymph vessels, surrounded by a single shell), lying inside it. This hernia can be both congenital and acquired.
Direct hernia can be purchased only while internal organs are located in the inguinal canal is the spermatic cord due to weakness of the muscles and ligaments.
Combined hernia characterized by the fact that the patient on one side there are two or three separate hernia sac, not communicating with each other and represents a straight, oblique hernia, or a combination thereof.
Hernias are vpravimye (patient can straighten them yourself) and nevpravimye when this is not possible because of adhesions separated viscera from hernia sac.
There are also groin and inguinal-scrotal hernia, when the last internal organs descend lower into the scrotum.
As shown
Inguinal hernia appears depending on its size and body located therein. Most often there is pain, inconvenience, especially when walking, disorders stool and urination. When inguinal hernia in the lower abdomen to the groin protrusion appears, increasing straining and coughing. If the scrotal inguinal-hernia increases in the amount of one of the sides of the scrotum.
In women, inguinal hernia is less common, but it happens with respect to the infringement more often. Finding the fallopian tubes and ovaries in a hernial bag causes pain, worse during menstruation.
But it also happens that a hernia does not cause great inconvenience and the patient does not pay attention to it.
Infringement
Strangulated hernia - a sudden compression of the hernia contents in the hernial ring. This release mechanism of elastic and fecal infringement. When the elastic mechanism is a sudden stepping large number of abdominal viscera through the narrow hernial when a sharp increase in intra-abdominal pressure from strong physical exertion.
Fecal infringement is the result of a sharp intestinal contents overflow loop, located in the hernial sac.
For infringement of a hernia are characteristic features: sharp pain, nevpravimost previously reduce a hernia, stress herniation. Strangulated hernia are often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, constipation.
