Three regolith - a drug from the class of combined oral contraceptives
Oral contraceptives - something to be feared at their reception?
Which refers to the three-phase contraceptives. Its active ingredients include ethinyl estradiol (a synthetic form of estrogen) and levonorgestrel (a form of progestogen). These hormones suppress ovulation, making cervical mucus thicker and more viscous in order to impede the penetration of sperm into the uterus, as well as reduce the likelihood of implantation of an embryo, if fertilization does happen.
Composition
Three-phase contraceptives are so called because the package with such preparations contain three types of tablets with different doses of hormones, corresponding to changes in hormonal environment during the menstrual cycle. The package includes three Regola:
- 6 pink tablets, each containing 50 micrograms (mcg) of levonorgestrel and 30 mcg of ethinyl estradiol.
- 5 white tablets - each part of the 75 mcg of levonorgestrel and 40 mcg ethinyl estradiol.
- 10 tablets dark yellow

- Each containing 125 ug levonorgestrel and 30 mcg of ethinyl estradiol.
Three regolith is also available in packs of 28 tablets. Seven tablets in such packages do not contain hormones.
In addition to the above substances, three Regola composition includes the following components: magnesium stearate, talc, corn starch, lactose monohydrate, copovidone, calcium carbonate, sucrose, iron oxide
(E172), titanium dioxide (E171).
Contraindications
Three regolith is not recommended for patients who have the following violations:
- High blood pressure;
- Diabetes - if it entailed any problems with the blood vessels;
- Heart attack, stroke, or a history of angina pectoris;
- Thrombosis in a personal or family history;
- Diseases caused by problems with the blood vessels of the eye;
- Breast cancer, or other cancers, the development of which can influence estrogen, e.g., ovarian cancer, uterine or cervical cancer;
- Liver disease, including - liver tumors;
- Vaginal bleeding, the cause of which has not been established;
- Migraine;
- An allergy to levonorgestrel, ethinyl estradiol or other ingredients Three Regola.
If you have been diagnosed with any of the above violations, while you take three regolith, stop taking the contraceptive, and as soon as possible consult a physician. Meanwhile, to prevent unwanted pregnancy, use other means of contraception, such as cervical caps combined with spermicides.
Before you start taking three Regola should also tell your doctor if you have ever been or are currently following violations:
- Jaundice;
- Gallstones;
- Porphyria;
- Systemic lupus erythematosus;
- Hemolytic uremic syndrome;
- Otosclerosis;
- Diabetes (of any type);
- Depression;
- Crohn's Disease.
When these irregularities may allow the physician to take three regol, however patients may be advised to come to examinations every two months, at least the first 6-12 months after starting the drug.
Drug Interactions
The following drugs can decrease the effectiveness of three Regola:
- Antibiotics (such as ampicillin, tetracycline, rifampicin);
- Medicines used to treat epilepsy, for example, primidone, carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, topiramate, hydantoin or barbiturates;
- Ritonavir (a drug used in the treatment of HIV-infected individuals);
- Griseofulvin (a medicine that is widely used to treat fungal infections);
- Tricyclic antidepressants;
- Cyclosporin (an immunosuppressant that is used, for example, post-transplant

and in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis);
- Drugs, which is composed of St. John's wort.
While taking these medicines and up to 28 days after treatment (the exact date depends on what kind of medication taken by patients) in addition to the three Regola must use barrier contraception.
How to take three regolith
The first tablet should be taken three Regola in the first day of menstruation - that is, the day when a new menstrual cycle. Start taking the drug, and can be a couple of days later, but then for the next seven days you will need to use additional contraception.
Tablets must be taken every day at about the same time.
Upon receipt of the twenty-first tablet to do a seven-day break, during which usually starts bleeding, similar to menstrual - as a rule, it is not as abundant and less prolonged. After seven days, start taking three regolith from a new package - it should be done regardless of whether the bleeding has ended or not.

Side effects
The most common side effects are three Regola:
- Breast tenderness;
- Depressed mood;
- Headache;
- Nausea;
- Skin problems, for example, acne, or the appearance of brown pigmented spots, similar to those which are sometimes formed on the skin during pregnancy;
- Non-menstrual bleeding (usually spotting and short-term), and sometimes - the absence of menstruation;
- The increase in weight.
In addition, three regol increases the likelihood of developing certain types of cancer and thrombosis. The probability of developing thrombosis is particularly high among female smokers over the age of 35 years, and women suffering from obesity.
