Summary: The film adaptation of the classics of American literature of the novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Nouveaux riches with sensitive soul, Jay Gatsby (Robert Redford) falls in love with a frivolous Daisy Buchanan (Mia Farrow), who breaks his heart.

Style: the style of the American high society and the return of women's fashion twenties.

12. "Mahogany" (1975)

Venue: Chicago, the seventies.

Summary: Tracy (Diana Ross) tries to escape from the ghetto of Chicago and make a career in the fashion world.

Style: Charming retro. Diana Ross herself has designed some of the costumes. The style of the film was inspired by Marc Jacobs to create autumn-winter collection in 2007.

What to look for: all retro costumes, brilliant colors, shine. Evening dress ocher. White pantsuits. Turtlenecks. Crazy hairstyles.

13. "Annie Hall" (1977)

 Annie Hall
 Place: New York, the seventies.

Summary: romantic adventure comic neurotic Alvey Singer (Woody Allen) and his girlfriend, no less neurotic Annie Hall (Diane Keaton).

Style: androgynous chic. The whimsical combination of male and female. Visual guide on how things should be worn boyfriend.

What to look for: hat heroine Keaton, men's ties, shirts, jackets and wide pants for men.

14. "American Gigolo" (1980)

Locality: Beverly Hills, eighties.
