Causes of infertility

Female infertility is often the result of hormonal disorders Hormonal disorders: causes and the most frequent disease Hormonal disorders: causes and the most frequent disease
 Transferred inflammatory diseases, after which there is obstruction of the fallopian tubes or the first abortion. The reason may also be too thick mucus of the cervical canal, which does not pass the sperm, and if this is combined with an insufficient number of sperm from the husband, the chances of pregnancy are reduced even more. Other causes of infertility are various anomalies of the structure of internal female reproductive organs and diseases with the growth of tissue, such as fibroids, endometriosis and so on. Finally, the last value in infertility is the nervous system of women, whose activities are closely connected with the work of the endocrine glands: constant stress, long-term mental stress, lack of sleep can cause menstrual irregularities Violation of the menstrual cycle: types and causes Violation of the menstrual cycle: types and causes

Male infertility - is a consequence of endocrine disorders, anomalies of the structure of the male sex organs, inflammatory diseases and sexual dysfunction. This may be changed in different degree locomotor activity of spermatozoa, the number, structure and amount of allocated sperm.

Both female and male infertility is divided into primary, when pregnancy does not occur even once (or any one woman), and secondary, occurring after already had at least one pregnancy (for men - at least one woman).

What is IVF and to whom it is shown

IVF or in vitro fertilization - is the fertilization of the egg outside the woman's body (in vitro), followed by the introduction of the embryo into the uterus of a woman.

In vitro fertilization can help with the following conditions:

  • female infertility with obstruction of the fallopian tubes, where the egg after ovulation can not meet the sperm;
  • female infertility in various hormonal disorders, if it is an obstacle to pregnancy within a year after the start of treatment;
  • Female infertility associated with the growth of tissue within the walls of the uterus, such as endometriosis;
  • female infertility of unknown etiology that causes it is not possible to find out after a thorough examination;
  • male infertility - a decrease of sperm or sperm content in it.

Before IVF

Before IVF wife carefully examined to determine the cause of infertility. If during the inspection revealed inflammatory diseases of the genital or pockets of infection in other organs, they are being treated well.

Diagnostic tests include the determination of hormonal levels, identifying latent infections, the study of the husband's sperm. Additionally conducted X-ray, ultrasound and endoscopic (eg, inspect the inside of the uterus using a special apparatus - hysteroscope) study.

How is IVF

IVF procedure consists of several stages.

  • The first stage - the regulation of the menstrual cycle The menstrual cycle - that occurs in different phases? The menstrual cycle - that occurs in different phases?
   with the help of hormones that suppress the woman's own hormones. This is done so that the time of ovulation can be controlled and in time to pick up the ripened egg from the ovary.
  • The second stage - the stimulation of the maturation of multiple eggs in the ovaries using hormones individually selected (based on survey results) under the control of ultrasound. Eggs requires several to improve the possibility of fertilization.
  • The third stage - egg retrieval using ovarian follicle puncture under ultrasound. At the same time a man delivers semen, which is subjected to special treatment.
  • The fourth stage - fertilization by sperm in a test tube. Ova and sperm in vitro are joined and placed in an incubator for several days. During this time, doctors, embryologists monitor their division - it allows them to choose the most promising embryos.
  • The fifth stage - putting the embryos into the uterine cavity. The procedure is performed through a catheter inserted into the uterine cavity. At the same time to increase the chance of pregnancy is transferred to two or more of the embryo.
  • The sixth stage - supports hormone treatment for two weeks - it contributes to proper formation of the pregnancy and the prevention of miscarriages. After that the blood test for pregnancy (blood HCG - human chorionic gonadotropin) and if it came, the woman carefully observed up to the birth.

In our time to defeat infertility and having a healthy baby is quite real.
