Mode of action of mifepristone

The amount of progesterone in the blood of healthy non-pregnant women increases during the second half of the menstrual cycle, after ovulation. At the same time increases the sensitivity of the muscle layer of the uterus to prostaglandins - biologically active substances that also contribute to the active reduction of muscle fibers. Indications and contraindications

Mifepristone is contraindicated in:

with severe anemia;
when pelvic inflammatory disease;
with severe diseases of internal organs;
smoking women older than 35 years;
if you are hypersensitive to the components of the drug;
with suspected ectopic pregnancy;
during pregnancy for more than 42 days;
pregnancy that occurred during treatment with intrauterine contraception, or after the cancellation of hormonal contraception;

When induction of labor does not prescribe mifepristone:
