How did your parents react to your decision to become an actor?

Awful! My father did not want to recognize my work, and the whole family too. Their attitude softened only when I began to gain popularity.

They say you have Spanish roots?

Yes. My parents were born here in Brazil, but my grandparents come from Andalusia. I was once in Spain and was surprised at the amount of people wearing name Cortez.

What attracted Francesco Paola?

It represented for him to Italy first.

For him, it was a big surprise. Although in the beginning he treated it with a grain of salt, of course, he was happy.

Your attitude towards this pair - Francesco and Paolo?

I think everything that happened to them - it's wonderful! I believe that Benedito Ruy Barbosa (author of the series - pp) wanted to show that in spite of a couple of the existing prejudice in society, when a man in adulthood, but also falls in love with a married young woman. And of course the fact that such a young beautiful woman like Paola, falls in love with a man much older.

In your life did this happen?

Yes, but not quite. At age 18, I met a woman who was 33 years old. She was my teacher in everything, even in sex. And I am very grateful for that.

How did you prepare for the role of Italian Francesco?

I have many Italian friends, and so I am fairly familiar with their culture. In addition, immediately prior to the shooting, I was living in Sao Paulo in the Italian district, talked with the professor who helped me get used to the image, and even started to learn the Italian language.
