Chicory
It is found almost everywhere on vacant lots, along roads, on the steep banks of the hills. Chicory - a powerful branched perennial herbaceous plant of more than 1 m, straight branched stems, sharp-toothed, lanceolate leaves, family Asteraceae. Big, beautiful light blue colored baskets sitting most of the beams in the leaf axils. The root of the plant thickened, spindle-shaped, like a radish. Often it is grown from seed as an economic plant. Fleshy roots of chicory used as a coffee substitute. Bleached (etioliro- bathrooms) leaves of chicory used as a spicy salad. It blooms in June and July. The flowers of chicory are revealed early in the morning between 4 and 5 hours and by 10 hours they "fall asleep." So beautiful chicory only in the morning.
