 Popular songs appear constantly and in large quantities, once they called a hit, now called hits. But there are songs that really changed people's lives, symbolize the fate of an entire generation, reflect the sentiments and aspirations of his time. Call such a popular song meaningless, and any special terms for their designation has not yet been invented. Herman sang several songs like becoming a real voice of the Soviet Union the sixties and seventies.

 Herman: the voice of an era

Victoria Anna Herman was born February 14, 1936 in the Uzbek city Jambul .  The story of her tragic family, as well as the history of many families living in the Soviet Union under Stalin .  Her father, Eugene Herman, was in Uzbekistan, trying to escape from possible reprisals: he came from the Ukraine settled at the beginning of the XIX century secured the German family, his father had already been arrested and sent to the camp, my brother was forced to flee to Germany .  Eugene himself in an attempt to hide from the authorities got to Uzbekistan, where he met Irma Martens, teacher of German, whose ancestors, the Dutch Protestants, Mennonites settled in the territory of the Russian Empire in the XVIII century .  The young family had two children, Anna first, then Friedrich, but Eugene still not managed to hide from the all-seeing eye of the NKVD in September 1937, he was arrested and, as it turned out later, in 1938, was shot .  Irma with two children was sent to Kyrgyzstan, where he soon died from the disease, Friedrich .  In the next few years, Anna Herman and her mother had no permanent home, they were forced into a difficult war to roam in different cities of Siberia and Central Asia, while in 1943, Irma did not come out again to marry temporarily in Jambul officer of the Polish Army Herman Berner .  Berner died in 1944 in Belarus, but the fact of marriage to a Polish officer in the fate of the family played a decisive role .  In 1946, Irma received a letter from a colleague her second husband, which has been suggested that by coincidence German Berner can stay alive .  This assumption has not been confirmed, but with this paper at the hands of Irma got a reason to move with her daughter to Poland .

Three years after moving to the mother and daughter settled in Wroclaw, where Anna and graduated from high school, which was a diligent student and where he first tried to use his vocals. Here Anna in 1955, she entered the Geological Faculty of the Wroclaw University of Technology, finished it, but the specialty has not worked a day since her involvement in the student's initiative and showed her around, she had a clear singing gift. Therefore, since 1961, after graduating from the University of Wroclaw and to obtain official permission to work as a professional singer on the results of the qualifying examination, Herman began performing in Polish cities with different ensembles.

When nationality is not important

Soon, Anna Herman, whose talent has not gone unnoticed, has reached a new level: in 1963 she won prizes at festivals in Sopot and Olsztyn, and in 1964 received just two first prizes at international music festival in Sopot. The singer was invited to tour the Soviet Union, where the spiritual and lyrical manner of execution of Anna immediately won many admirers. In addition, a significant role played and tie familiarity with Anna Kachalina, music editor of the Soviet studio-monopoly in the field of record "Melody". It was then that Herman began recording in the "Melodies" songs in Russian, which is why its popularity in the Soviet Union became more and more, and in Poland, many considered it more Russian than the Polish singer.

Yet in 1967, the famous Italian Song Festival in San Remo, Herman was presented to Poland, becoming the first party to the review of the country. In Italy in 1967 it happened one of the most tragic events in the life of the singer: August 27, near Milan, she got into a terrible car accident, which resulted in the received multiple compound fractures and a concussion. Status of the singer was so heavy that two weeks after the accident, she never regained consciousness, and then for two years did not get up from bed. In 1969, it recovered motor capabilities, but a full rehabilitation course ended only after a year.

In 1970, Herman returned to the stage, and it turned out triumphant return. At first, it was hailed as a heroine in Poland since 1972. Herman resumed its work in the Soviet Union. The song "Hope" brought Anna incredible popularity in the USSR, and in the next few years, it has become one of the most popular singers, singing "When the gardens were in bloom", "Echoes of Love", "Tenderness". Her performances in the Union in the 1974-1975 and 1979-1980 years enjoyed great success. Moreover, in 1972 Anna married Zbigniew Tucholsky, gave birth in 1975, his son, also named Zbigniew. But the happy band did not last too long: in 1979, during the tour, the singer's health condition worsened, and in 1980 she was diagnosed with cancer. The next two years were marked by the struggle with the disease, but the battle was lost, and August 25, 1982 Herman died in Warsaw.
