 Romeo and Juliet
 Version 2. Baz Luhrmann. 1996

New aesthetics MTV dictates new rules of the genre. Romanticism is replaced by cynicism, slow music gives way to fast rhythms. The action of "Romeo and Juliet" version of the 90-ies speeds up even more (it is interesting, something we expect next?). Only here the protagonists now gone some tired. Rather one Romeo Giulietta according to the US screenwriters was a girl with head and just quietly laughing at his antics are not entirely healthy mothers. But Romeo (Leonardo DiCaprio, if you have not known) first looks very sweet. The truth is on his side he hangs a gun, but sufficient vitality to this young man is not noticeable. And a party to the Capulets, he comes mustered some drug shit. Do not believe me - look again like Romeo Leonardo puts some tablet in your mouth, and then rushes to the bathroom, where he meets with his love. Very American.

However, after seeing Juliet, Romeo quickly throws out of my head all sorts of nonsense about how he was tired of life, and becomes, as befits a 17-year-old boy, ran under the balcony at his girlfriend. And then begins the water in the truest sense of the word. Swimming pool, rain, again the pool - it looks like the end of the film the actors finally turned into amphibians. Speaking of the final. Luhrmann made a real mess, completely burying the Shakespeare script. Romeo rushes to Verona by car, scaring passers-by and the police, takes Beret - a symbol of French charm Beret - a symbol of French charm
hostage (that is - the memories of Paris?), shooting at random, and in the end, is locked in the church with the body of Juliet. According to the laws of the American melodrammy Baz could not kill the main character, not giving them the pre-bid farewell to each other, so that option was discarded Shakespeare unnecessary.

In short, all died

Zeffirelli film and the film Luhrmann was wildly popular, despite the fact that the story is known to almost every schoolboy .  Why is that? A good direction? Oh yeah! A good ensemble cast? Another one! Great music? Without a doubt .  So? Is that determines the popularity of the film? Or maybe something else? This is something called a dream .  The dream of a love that has no place in our reality .  Dream of a perfect relationship .  A dream that can never be, but that so desire .  Juliet could not be at the stove, and Romeo can not go home drunk, getting the next portion of accusations from his dear little wife .  Reality and dream - the two planes of the same existence, our existence .  Freezing at the bus stop waiting for the bus, we dream of a quiet night in Verona .  Is it bad? Dreams need to stay there, somewhere beyond the horizon .  The dream becomes reality boring, and we invent new .  We are alive, while living our dreams .
